Coping with Gloomy Days Ahead

Many people are sensitive to the short, dark days of winter; cold or cloudy days; and stormy weather. With daylight savings time abruptly ended, it will be getting dark earlier. Gray, sunless days will be more frequent, with no respite until spring. For some, anticipating the gloominess of late fall and winter causes moods to plummet along with the thermometer or barometer. In many parts of the country right now, adults and teens who are especially reactive to gloomy days may be out of sorts or developing true Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
